TERMS OF USE OF WEBSITE

1. License of use

Dr Jane Halsall, Counselling Psychologist owns the intellectual property rights and material within the website. As a viewer of the website, you may view, download or print contents of the site, but must not use the website in anyway that would cause damage or impairment of the availability or accessibility of the site. It is prohibited to use this website to copy its contents or distribute any material consisting of a harmful, computer virus that may cause damage to the running of the site and to others viewing it.

2. Access & changes to the website

You have access to the Dr Jane Halsall website free of charge. The service provides online consultations which are provided by way of a third party software, such as Zoom, Skype etc where such parties will have their own, unique terms of use. We ask you to read and comprehend these terms
before use of the service. Dr Jane Halsall, the registered copyright owner, cannot guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted and available at all times. The owner has the right to suspend and withdraw the site, or edit any of its contents without notice.

3. Viruses

Dr Jane Halsall cannot guarantee that this website will continue to be secure and free of harmful viruses or bugs. We therefore, encourage you to have your own virus protection software in operation before entering the website.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

5. Confidentiality

All sessions with Dr Jane Halsall are strictly private and confidential. With Dr Jane Halsall, you can feel reassured that all one to ones and any communication between yourself and Jane are safe and secure. It is paramount to us that all aspects of counselling and psychotherapy are built on trust and a therapeutic rapport is built to make the most of your
sessions.

All information shared with Jane will remain confidential unless something shall be discussed to a third party:

  • Dr Halsall may be required to contact the clients medical general practitioner or other professional parties for example, insurance providers. This will be discussed with the client to obtain informed consent prior to any contact.
  • Where there is a concern for an individuals safety, be to the client or another person, the therapist has the right to contact external providers without prior consent.
  • There are legal limits to confidentiality where a criminal offence may be of concern. In this circumstance, Dr Halsall has a duty of care and the right to break confidentiality and seek outside assistance, for instance in relation to prevention of terrorism, drug trafficking acts and child protection acts. A therapist may be required to answer questions about a client concerning a criminal offence in a court of law.

6. Initial session

The first session with Dr Jane Halsall is an integral part to a clients journey. During this session, Dr Halsall aims to establish a therapeutic, ethical and strong relationship with the client so that they feel relaxed and open.

Jane will identify the best way forward including the length, frequency and type of therapy the client may need.

All sessions with Dr Jane Halsall are 50 minutes in duration, for both individual and couple therapy.

7. Payment

Upon arrangement of the initial session, clients are asked to settle their upcoming therapy session by cash, cheque or bank transfer in advance of the appointment date to secure the booking.

8. Cancellation policy & re-scheduling

If for any unforeseen circumstance where you cannot attend a confirmed therapy session, we kindly ask that 2 days notice is provided. Should you be unable to provide sufficient notice within this timeframe, the fee for the session will be non-refundable.

9. Personal records & data protection

In line with our privacy policy, all client records are held electronically and securely in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Dr Jane Halsall is registered with the Information Commissioners Office and commits to ensuring any personal data collected is processed lawfully with appropriate security measures in place.

Before the start of any therapy session begins, Dr Jane Halsall will request for a client to complete a psychotherapy interactive form which forms the legal basis for any stored data.

Whilst personal data will be stored to identify a client including contact information, relevant medical or psychiatric notes, no therapeutic notes from therapy sessions will ever be recorded.

10. Ethics and professional practice

Dr Jane Halsall, Counselling Psychologist is fully insured for professional liability and maintains third party accident cover should an accident occur affecting a client on the organisations premises.

Dr Jane Halsall is an accredited member of the following professional bodies and abides by their code of ethics and professional practice:

  • The British Psychological Society
  • The Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy

ADHD ASSESSMENT TERMS

1. The patient’s GP and referrer, where relevant, will be informed of the assessment or appointment.
2. Appointment fees and Fee Schedule

The fee is an all inclusive fee of £1250. It includes pre assessment call, assessment and written report and follow up call.

Dr Halsall reserves the right to change the Fee Schedule and will notify patients in writing.

The fee when booked is non-refundable but appointments can be rescheduled – see below.

ADHD Assessments:

In order to confirm an ADHD Assessment, the fee is to be paid in full at the time of booking. Amendments to letters will only be accepted if any of the content is inaccurate or factually incorrect. All amendment requests are to be approved by Dr Halsall

Telephone calls with parents/guardians/professionals/schools

Fees range from £200-£275, depending on the duration of the call. Dr Halsall will advise on how much time will be needed at the time of the request. Telephone calls must be paid for the day before.

Rescheduling Policy

Should you need to reschedule an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may offer this appointment to another patient. We operate a 3-business day cancellation policy (for Initial Consultations and other appointments 90 minutes and longer, it is 5 business days).

Appointments rescheduled within 3 business days of an appointment (or 5 in the case of an Initial Consultation or other appointment 90 minutes and longer), will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

All payments must be made online

Prescriptions need to be done with a Psychiatrist. Dr Halsall does not prescribe medication

Complaints Procedure

Dr Halsall hopes that you are satisfied with the service and treatment you receive. If you are not, however, please inform the Office in writing, via email or post, so that we can aim to resolve the issue together.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Dr Halsall is here to help and support patients and their families and will not tolerate any rude, aggressive or abusive behaviour.
